Two Men Arrested Regarding Mobile Device Hidden in Commons to Allegedly Play Sex Noises During PMQs

Police have taken into custody a duo of individuals related to a mobile phone discovered hidden within the parliamentary chamber, which was allegedly designed to emit sex noises during the weekly parliamentary session.

Finding and Probe

This phone was uncovered close to the frontbench in the course of a standard security check of the hall. It is believed it was planned to interrupt the regular debate between Keir Starmer and Kemi Badenoch in the autumn month.

An official spokesperson commented, “At 10.25 on that specific date, a device was discovered during a routine search of the parliamentary hall.”

Arrests and Charges

Enquiries led officers to believe that the phone was deliberately positioned in a spot with the aim of creating interference to business in the chamber.

  • A man in his 30s was detained on that Friday on suspected grounds of attempting to deliberately cause a disturbance.
  • Another man in his sixties was taken into custody on Tuesday 30 September on suspicion of the same offence.
  • The two have been released on bail to appear at a future time.

Security Measures and Consequences

Increased precautions were introduced in the Commons after the phone was discovered. Sound-guided visits and guided tours were cancelled, and there was limited entry to the Commons chamber.

The upper house followed suit to limit entry to the Lords Chamber “for safety reasons.”

Officials noted, “Investigations remain ongoing, and we are updating the speaker and clerk up to date with our probe.”

Gravity of the Incident

This incident is being regarded as grave as it represents a major breach of parliamentary security. This device was found while hundreds security staff based in Westminster were on strike over wages and terms.

Consequently, the public were prohibited from the parliamentary estate. The union explained that the strike proceeded due to cutbacks in holiday time, unchanged salaries, and an wage disparity based on race.
