Lando Norris Edges Out Piastri in Brazilian Practice Session
Lando Norris has outperformed his teammate at each of the last five race weekends.
Lando Norris edged out fellow driver and title rival the Australian for the quickest lap in the final moments of practice at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
Norris, who took the points lead from Piastri by just one point after winning in the Mexican Grand Prix two weeks ago, outpaced the Melbourne-born driver by 0.023 seconds.
Until that point, Oscar Piastri had been the quickest of the McLaren pair for most of the session before sprint qualifying scheduled for 18:30 GMT.
The Red Bull star, the only other driver in realistic title contention, lying with a 36-point deficit behind Norris, was classified in 17th place as his team opted for a alternative strategy.
Verstappen's team-mate the Japanese driver was the sole competitor to have an incident, though minor, when he spun at the fourth corner early in the session.

The McLaren drivers were well clear of the other competitors, with the German's car P3, over half a second off Piastri's best.
The Aston Martin of the Spanish driver was fourth fastest, with Sauber's Bortoleto in front of the Mercedes of Russell and Alpine's Gasly and the Williams of Carlos Sainz.
