But the Ryding siblings said they had low expectations for the fourth and fifth Tests - and all they are requesting from the players is "a show of spirit".

"Every pundit points it out, but it all comes down to mental resilience. 'The aggressive approach has been elevated to a term now that is just, like, unrealistic play," added Rory.

"In a five-day Test match, you should hunker down. Wafting outside 'outside the line has never been in the coaching manuals, and that is primarily due to the batting lineup."

Future Prospects

When questioned if he believed England will triumph in a Test in the current series, Sam said: "The evidence suggests the hosts are a stronger side currently."

"There is going to have to be multiple performers that stands up for England and produces a match-winning display."

Even with the series lost, the siblings are still anticipating the trip.

"It will be a fantastic experience nonetheless," added another sibling. "We must adopt that mindset."

"Of course, it's unfortunate we can't contest the series, but we have invested a significant amount as it is."

"We will make the most of having Christmas and New Year in Australia. It is also a new experience for us traveling during the festive period."

A teacher, Katie is focused on enjoying the lengthy journey as part of her Christmas holidays.

"As a backup plan, I've got golf to rely on," she added.
